The Wonder Dome

In December 2021, Andy Cahill invited me - at the behest of dear friend Jeff Hull - to join him for a chat. You can give it a listen on the website for Andy’s Wonder Dome podcast here. Right now, I’m in a phase of re-connecting to the stories that have guided my life. This follows a long period of living in a storyless world as I focused on my own healing journey, and only now am I realising the harm I’ve done to myself and those around me by living disconnected from those stories that shaped me.

This conversation was an incredibly helpful reflection on my own path; both what lies behind me, and what yet lies ahead.

Creative Welly

The Wellington legend that is DK invited me to join him and the wonderful Natasha Zimmerman (founder of Unchatter) as part of Creative Welly.

We chatted about connection, regeneration, and much more. Check it out the full, glorious production here.

Teulo

Throughout 2020 I collaborated with architecture, design and construction CPD learning platform Teulo, working with founder - and all round legend - Janelle Fenwick in the lead up to their launch.

Along the way I led the curation of a full-day online event focused on regenerative design in the built environment, had a chat with friends (and Edmund Hilary Fellows) Elizabeth McNaughton and Bart de Vries on Recovery and Wellness during a Pandemic, explored the intersection between crisis recovery and regenerative design (again with Elizabeth), and deep-dived into regenerative sustainability with friend and collaborator Bill Reed.

How We Live

Following the release of How We Live - and with Stuff and NZ Business leading the media charge - collaborator and founder of MOTIF James Bushell and I were interviewed for Māori Television. While we’re not actively driving discussions, this is part of a national discussion on housing and the need to re-frame the crisis, and our responses to it.

Aqualab

Aqualab - an initiative by my client GHD Digital - have been working hard to bring together diverse perspectives to re-frame the role of water utilities globally.

From a podcast with GHD’s Water Market Lead Lindsey Brown, to an event exploring the role of regenerative design in the future of infrastructure, this series builds on on-going engagement with GHD’s team internally to lead the change in the way we relate to water as a source of life.

i2C Regenerative Housing Series

Friend and fellow regenerative designer Claire Bowles invited me to host a session on “Decolonising our futures” as part of i2C’s Regenerative Housing series.

While a white male might seem like an odd choice for the topic, you can give the recording a listen and make your own mind up. On some level, I hope that growing up in the unique circumstances of Northern Ireland has given me a useful perspective on the topic.
